Brad Fisher is a board-certified Oral and Maxillofacial surgeon. Dr. Fisher was born and raised in Redcliff, AB. He started his post-secondary training at the University of Alberta, obtaining his Bachelor of Medical Science and Doctor of Dental Surgery degrees from the University of Alberta. In his final year of dental school, he won the American Association of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons award for outstanding achievement and performance in Oral Surgery. After graduation, Dr. Fisher practiced as general dentist in Calgary, AB.
Brad then relocated to the east coast to complete his residency in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery at Dalhousie University. During this time, he obtained his Doctor of Medicine with Distinction, an award given to the top 10% of medical graduates. He also defended his thesis entitled “Temporomandibular Joint Outcomes following Orthognathic Surgery” to obtain his Master of Science in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery. While a surgical resident, Brad was fortunate to serve a term as President of the Canadian Resident’s Association for Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery
Following his residency, Dr. Fisher completed a fellowship in head & neck oncology and microvascular reconstruction at the Royal Brisbane & Women’s Hospital in Brisbane, AUS. During this year he gained significant experience in oncologic surgery and complex reconstructive procedures of patients affected by cancer, trauma, and congenital deformities.
Brad’s professional interests include orthognathic surgery, management of oral pathology, dental & zygomatic implants, surgical management of temporomandibular joint disorders, facial trauma and maxillofacial reconstruction. He successfully completed he Royal College of Dentists of Canada fellowship examination. He is also a member of the Canadian Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons (CAOMS), the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons (AAOMS), and the International Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons (IAOMS).
Away from the office and hospital Dr. Fisher enjoys running, snowboarding, wakesurfing, and spending time with his family. During his time in Australia he took up cycling and hopes one day to catch Dr. Stefanuto on the bike.
